’مُخُّ الْعِبَادَۃِ‘ ’اَفْضَلُ الْعِبَادَۃِ‘ ’سِلَاحُ الْمُؤْمِنْ‘ ’عَمُوْدُ الدِّیْنِ‘ ’نُوْرُ السَّمَوَاتِ وَ الْاَرْضِ‘ ’تُرْسُ الْمُؤْمِنْ‘ ’سِلَاحُ الْاَنْبِیَآئِ‘ مَفَاتِیْحُ النَّجَاحِ‘ وَ ’مَقَالِیْدُ الْفَلَاحِ‘
Hence supplication in the language of Exalted Leaders of Islam is recited as:
اِنَّ الَّذِیْنَ یَسْتَكْبِرُوْنَ عَنْ عِبَادَتِیْ سَیَدْخُلُوْنَ جَهَنَمَ دَاخِرِیْنَ۔
Late Kulayni (a) writes in Kafi from his chains from Zurarah about the ayat:
وَ اَفْضَلُ الْعِبَادَۃِ الدُّعَائُ۔
That I. Muahmmad Baqir (a) and that the word 'Ibadat' (worship) in this ayat means supplication (Dua). Then he says:
Supplication is the best form of worship.
The aspects of the way of dedicated lives of the prophets of Allah, infallible Imams (a) and leaders of Islam support that devotion is the highest position of man and with devotion one receives divine help to be in the slavery of the Almighty Allah.
قُلْ مَا یَعْبَؤُا بِكُمْ رَبِّیْ لَوْلَا دُعَآؤُكُمْ۔
The sweetest stage of worship is when a relationship between Allah and His slave is developed. The slave gets Tawfeeq for supplication and repentance. When he exhibits fear of God and humility and gets engrossed in supplication through glorification of Allah. If the slave does not supplicate, Allah also does not look at him with mercy.
Say, My Lord would not care for you if you were not for your prayer. (Surah Furqaan 25: 77)
The Haji should know that though there is no harm in praying for worldly and material things during the various stages of Hajj, the most proximate servants of Allah were distinguished in the sense that they preferred to pray for enhanced faith and aimed to reach the threshold of the Almighty.
… اِلٰهِیْ هَبْ لِیْ كَمَالَ الْاِنْقِطَاعِ اِلَیْكَ وَ اَنِرْ اَبْصَارَ قُلُوْبِنَا بِضِیَآئِ نَظَرِهَا اِلَیْكَ حَتّٰی تَخْرِقَ اَبْصَارُ الْقُلُوْبِ حُجُبَ النُّوْرِ فَتَصِلَ اِلٰی مَعْدِنِ الْعَظَمَۃِ وَ تَصِیْرَ اَرْوَاحُنَا مُعَلَّقَۃً بِعِزِّ قُدْسِكَ…۔
Sisters and brothers! It is Divine help (Tawfeeq) that you have travelled to the shrine of peace of God. Since you have already reached the land of revelation listen tonight to the voice of an alive one who supplicates Allah thus:
O Lord Give me that wonder due to which I reach a high position of separation and brighten the eyes of our hearts with your Light's (Noor) view. So much so that eyes tear the veils stopping the light. We reach the mine of exaltedness and our souls get suspended in your purification. (Mafateehul Jinan, Munajaat Sha'baniya)
اِلٰهِیْ تَرَدُّدِیْ فِی الْآثَارِ یُوْجِبُ بُعْدَ الْمَزَارِ فَاجْمَعْنِیْ عَلَیْكَ بِخِدْمَۃٍ تُوْصِلْنِیْ اِلَیْكَ كَیْفَ یُسْتَدَلُّ عَلَیْكَ بِمَا هُوَ فِیْ وُجُوْدِهٖ مُفْتَقِرٌ اِلَیْكَ اَ یَكُوْنُ لِغَیْرِكَ مِنَ الظُّهُوْرِ مَا لَیْسَ لَكَ حَتّٰی یَكُوْنَ هُوَ الْمُظْهِرُ لَكَ؟! مَتٰی غِبْتَ حَتّٰی تَحْتَاجَ اِلٰی دَلِیْلٍ یَدُلُّ عَلَیْكَ وَ مَتٰی بَعُدْتَ حَتّٰی تَكُوْنَ الْآثَارُ هِیَ الَّتِیْ تُوْصِلُ اِلَیْكَ عَمِیَتْ عَیْنٌ لَا تَرَاكَ عَلَیْهَا رَقِیْبًا وَ خَسِرَتْ صَفْتَۃُ عَبْدٍ لَمْ تَجْعَلْ لَهٗ مِنْ حُبِّكَ نَصِیْبًا اِلٰهِیْ اَمَرْتَ بِالرُّجُوْعِ اِلَی الْآثَارِ فَارْجِعْنِیْ اِلَیْكَ بِكِسْوَۃِ الْاَنْوَارِ وَ هِدَایَۃِ الْاِسْتِبْصَارِ حَتّٰی اَرْجِعَ اِلَیْكَ مِنْهَا دَخَلْتُ اِلَیْكَ مَصُوْنَ السِّرِّ عَنِ النَّظَرِ اِلَیْهَا وَ مَرْفُوْعَ الْهِمَّۃِ عَنِ الْاِعْتِمَادِ عَلَیْهَا اِنَّكَ عَلٰی كُلِّ شَیْئٍ قَدِیْرٌ۔
We should pay attention to this supplication of I. Husain (a) which he recited on the land of Arafah:
O Nourisher! My struggle in Your signs of power and Exaltedness is a cause of my aloofness from the place of your observation (Ziyarat). Ask me to serve you such that I reach you because we cannot prove a thing which is not dependant on You for its birth. Is there anything which is different from You in existence and become a proof of Your reaappearance. When were You away from the eyes that Your signs become a proof of Your nearness? May that eye burst which does not see You while You are always its Guardian and Companion. May that slave remain in loss who is deprived of Your love. O Lord! You order everyone to ponder and think over signs but turn me towards the brilliance of Your Light. Guide me through viewing so that I pass through signs and reach You as I have come to You in my hidden conscience without paying attention to them. O Allah! Raise my courage as much that I become needless of signs. May I see You and nothing else. Surely You have power over all things.
Respected pilgrims of the house of Allah, there are some supplications for you in every deed, every halt and in every state which you should recite with full concentration and pure intention. Know that the soul of Hajj is in the purification of soul. This aim is fulfilled by supplications, invocations, recitation of Quran, performance of obligatory as well as recommended deeds and meditation.
