CAVE OF HIRA

Hira is a mountain near Mecca and has a cave in it. Before annunciation, Holy Prophet (s.a.w.a.) used to meditate and worship Allah is this cave. Whenever he was free, he used to go Mt. Hira and gaze at the sky of Allah's mercy from its heights. On 27th Rajab, Jibraeel (a) was sent to him and the Surah 'Iqraa Bisme Rabbekal lazee Khalaq' was revealed and he was announced a prophet. This mountain is also called 'Jabalan Noor'. If a pilgrim is successful in viewing the cave of Hira, it is recommended that he pray two rakats of prayer and offer the reward to the Prophet (s.a.w.a.) and recite the Ziyarat that is to be recited from a distance, which is mentioned in this book. One should remember the difficulties of the Prophet (s.a.w.a.).
