MERITS OF THE ZIYARAT OF THE HOLY PROPHET (S.A.W.A.), FATEMAH (S.A.) AND IMAMS (A) OF BAQEE
It is highly recommended for everyone and specially for the Hajis that they should perform the Ziyarat of the Chief of Messengers, Mohammed bin Abdullah (s.a.w.a.) and not doing so would amount to be non-fulfilment of his rights.
The Shaykh says: "If people do not go for the Ziyarat of the Prophet (s.a.w.a.) it is necessary for the I. to compel the people to do so. Because not doing the Ziyarat of the Prophet (s.a.w.a.) is injustice and injustice is a prohibited act."
Shaykh Saduq (a) has narrated a tradition from I. Sadiq (a) that he (a) said:
When one of you completes the Hajj he should conclude the Hajj on our Ziyarat. Because, the Hajj is perfected due to this only.
Also it is related from Ameerul Momineen (a) that he (a) said:
Conclude your Hajj on the Ziyarat of the Holy Prophet (s.a.w.a.), because not doing the Ziyarat of the Prophet (s.a.w.a.) after the Hajj is injustice upon him and it is against good manners. You have been commanded to go for the Ziyarat of these graves whose right of Ziyarat has been imposed upon by Allah. Ask Allah for sustenance near these graves.
It is related from Abu Salt Harawi (r.a.) that he said: I asked I. Reza (a) what he says about the tradition that people narrate: In Paradise the believers would see their Lord from their places. )What this actually means?( I. (a) replied:
O Abu Salt! The Almighty has made His Prophet, H. Mohammed (s.a.w.a.) superior to the angels and prophets and made his obedience equal to His own obedience, his allegiance like His own allegiance and his Ziyarat His own Ziyarat. Thus it is said:
اِنَّ الَّذِیْنَ یُبَایِعُوْنَكَ اِنَّمَا یُبَایِعُوْنَ اللّٰهَ یَدُ اللّٰهِ فَوْقَ اَیْدِیْهِمْ۔
Whoever obeys the Apostle, he indeed obeys Allah...
(Surah Nisaa 4:80)
Surely those who swear allegiance to you do but swear allegiance to Allah; the hand of Allah is above their hands...
(Surah Fath 48:10)
The Messenger of Allah (s.a.w.a.) said:
One who does my Ziyarat )visits me( during my lifetime or after my passing away, it is as if he has visited the Almighty Allah.
Himyari has narrated from H. I. Jafar Sadiq (a) in 'Qurbul Asnaad' that the Holy Prophet (s.a.w.a.) said:
I will intercede on the Day of Qiyamat for one who visits me during my lifetime or after my passing away.
It is mentioned in traditions that on the occasion of Eid, I. Jafar Sadiq (a) was in Medina. He went to the Ziyarat of the Holy Prophet (s.a.w.a.), saluted him and said:
Due to the Holy Prophet (s.a.w.a.) we have precedence and superiority over the people of all cities, whether Mecca or other than Mecca.
The Late Shaykh Tusi (r.a.) has related from Yazid Ibne Abdul Malik and he from his father and grandfather that he said: I went to H. Fatemah Zahra (s.a.) and she saluted me first and asked: 'What brings you here?' I said: I have come in anticipation of divine rewards and blessings. She (s.a.) said:
My father has informed me that Allah will make Paradise incumbent upon the one who salutes him and me for three days.
I asked: In his and your lifetime? She replied,
Yes! And also after our passing away.
Allamah Majlisi (r.a.) says that Abdullah Ibne Abbas has narrated in an authentic tradition from the Holy Prophet (s.a.w.a.) that he said:
One who performs the Ziyarat of Hasan (a) in Baqee would be firm-footed on the Sirat Bridge when people would be slipping upon it.
The book 'Muqna-a'h' has a tradition from I. Sadiq (a) that he (a) said:
Sins will be forgiven of the person who does my Ziyarat and he will not die in a state of poverty and trouble.
Ibne Qoolwayh (r.a.) has mentioned in 'Kaamel-uz-Ziaraat' from Hisham bin Saalim that I. Sadiq (a) was asked by a man: Should one perform the Ziyarat of your father? He (a) replied: 'Yes.' The man asked: What is the reward of his Ziyarat? I. (a) replied:
Paradise is the reward of that person, but upon the condition that he should have faith in his I.ate and should follow him.
He said: What is the fate of the one who avoids his Ziyarat?
He would be in extreme regret on the Day of Qiyamat.
There are many traditions in this regard.
