ZIYARAT OF THE PATERNAL AUNTS (FATHER'S SISTERS) OF THE HOLY PROPHET (S.A.W.A.)

The graves of these ladies: Safiya and Ateka and that of H. Abbas's (a) mother, Ummul Baneen are near each other in Baqee. Safiya was a very brave and virtuous lady and she was also a poetess. She accepted Islam in the initial stage. She paid allegiance to the Prophet (s.a.) and migrated to Medina with him. She was also present in the Battles of Ohod and Khandaq. She passed away in 20 A.H. at the age of 73. Ateka was a very honest lady. She is included amongst the companions of the Prophet (s.a.w.a.) and she also migrated to Medina with him.

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَیْكُمَا یَا عَمَّتَیْ رَسُوْلِ اللّٰهِ اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَیْكُمَا یَا عَمَّتَیْ نَبِیِّ اللّٰهِ اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَیْكُمَا یَا عَمَّتَیْ حَبِیْبِ اللّٰهِ اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَیْكُمَا یَا عَمَّتَیِ الْمُصْطَفٰی رَضِیَ اللّٰهُ تَعَالٰی عَنْكُمَا وَ جَعَلَ الجَنَّۃَ مَنْزِلَكُمَا وَ رَحْمَۃُ اللّٰهِ وَ بَرَكَاتُهٗ۔
