BIDDING FAREWELL (WIDA) TO THE HOLY PROPHET (S)
If you intend to leave the holy city of al-Madinah, you may bathe yourself, direct to the tomb of the Holy Prophet (s), and do the acts you did before. You may then bid farewell to the Holy Prophet (s), by saying these words:
اَسْتَوْدِعُكَ اللّٰهَ وَ اَسْتَرْعِيْكَ
وَ اَقْرَاُ عَلَيْكَ السَّلَامُ
اٰمَنْتُ بِاللّٰهِ وَ بِمَا جِئْتَ بِهِ وَ دَلَلْتَ عَلَيْهِ
اَللّٰهُمَّ لَا تَجْعَلْهُ اٰخِرَ الْعَهْدِ مِنِّي
لِزِيَارَةِ قَبْرِ نَبِيِّكَ
فَاِنْ تَوَفَّيْتَنِيْ قَبْلَ ذٰلِكَ
فَاِنِّيْۤ اَشْهَدُ فِيْ مَمَاتِيْ
عَلٰى مَا شَهِدْتُ عَلَيْهِ فِيْ حَيَاتِيْۤ
اَنْ لَا اِلٰهَ اِلَّا اَنْتَ
وَ اَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا عَبْدُكَ وَ رَسُوْلُكَ
صَلَّى اللّٰهُ عَلَيْهِ وَ اٰلِهِ۔
Imam al-Sadiq (‘a) has instructed Yunus ibn Ya’qub to say the following words when he intends to leave the tomb of the Holy Prophet (s):
صَلَّى اللّٰهُ عَلَيْكَ
اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ
لَا جَعَلَهُ اللّٰهُ اٰخِرَ تَسْلِيْمِيْ عَلَيْكَ۔
